Yongnuo for canon GOT ONE

Looking for recommendations,i have a canon 70d & 430ex11 flash & also an old yongnuo 465 flash which i want to replace,but it needs to be one that will work in slave mode,all suggestions welcome.
Not looking for a very expensive one really.:)
 
Canon were doing £40 cash back on the 430EX ll, and I believe this offer is still running.

I bought two of them using this offer, and use them off-camera with Yongnuo YN-622c wireless flash triggers.

I don,t really want to spend on another 430EX 11,why are you not using slave?,thanks for your reply though.:)
 
I bought the Yongnuo YN560 III. Its a fantastic flash. I do all my portraits and weddings with two of these set ups. It does work in slave mode with the on camera flash as a trigger, but I use a set of Phottix Strato II radio triggers. Much easier. You can pick up a set of triggers, and a flash for about £50 all in now.
 
I already have 3 x 603 triggers,i just thought slave would be less messing around with more kit.:)
 
Fair enough. But I still maintain the YN 560 is a great flash. I was a bit skeptical at first, seeing as the three camera shops by me never heard of Yongnuo, but I bit the bullet and ordered one and I've never looked back. I still use my Canon 420EX for on camera TTL stuff, but for manual set up lighting I also grab the Yongnuo's.
 
I agree the Yongnuo's are excellent,i still have my older 465 one & it still works had it for years now so i might have a look at the 560 111:)

Using a 430EX ll as a 'slave' would either require another flash with a built-in optical transmitter (e.g. 580EX), or a separate optical transmitter like the ridiculously expensive Canon ST-E2 (£175). Albeit there are cheaper third-party alternatives.

For less that £90 I bought three YN-622c wireless (RF) transceivers, with which I can control both 430EX ll off camera in full E-TTL or manual, and without the 'line-of-sight' requirement of optical linking.

I think maybe we are at crossed wires here,maybe my fault not explaining it right.
What i am thinking of is using my 430EX11 on slave i can trigger it with popup flash & looking at replacing my old YN 465 with the YN 560 111,i also have 3x603,s as well but thinking of by passing them to cut down on stuff.:)

Yep, I'm with you now :)

I wasn't thinking 'pop-up' flash, as I am using a 5D Mklll, and it doesn't have one.

The older 565 yongnuo will work as a slave in manual or ETTL or the 568 will do the same but add HSS

Cheers for that,i am seriously looking at the YN560 mk3,looks good for the money.:)
 
I bought a second 560 recently. They're great, having wireless receiver built in is really handy and saves a fragile extra device...

It works really well and the price mean you can have a multi light setup. Build quality is great, too.

Just ordered one of these,they look great for the money Yongnuo YN560 III:):banana:
 
Only waited about 5 days for this flash to arrive & it is an excellent flash for the money.:):woot:
 
I have three of these. Used with the interfit strobies bracket and softbox bracket. Can't fault them!
 
Do these YN560 mk3 have any particular weaknesses? I'm looking for a flash for my 70d too and wondering whether this flash is worth the money or whether I should buy something a bit better?

Well for me they do exactly what i want to use them for & that is off camera flash,they work great & have plenty of power,they are not ttl though but i don,t need that.
This is a quote from the site i bought it from.
"The major upgraded for YN-560 III is that it comes with RF-602 and RF-603 2.4G compatible radio receivers built-in to the unit, which means you can use YN-560 III as a receiver off camera, and it can be used together with RF-602 / RF-603 transmitters on the camera, pressing the button of transmitter or the shutter release button of camera, YN-560 III can be fired."
 
Bought one this week and works brilliantly. Use it as a slave with the SB910 on commander mode from the onboard flash and works well with the SB910 on a Rf 603 and one on the camera. For the price it seems excellent value.
