Yongnuo Nikon Lens available soon

Should be a nice wee cheap option for some although seems to be pretty much the Canon lens with a Nikon mount and af-s motor

Nikon make plenty of excellent 50mm primes, so no need of this 2nd rate stuff. Even Canon has now an improved 50mm f/1.8 STM which I'd pick over their 1.4 version.

This sort of comment makes me laugh poster has little knowledge of Nikons history.
Both Nikon and Canon in their start up years were manufacturers of second rate copies of cameras and accessories. They copied equipment from the best European companies eg Leica, Contax etc.

This is now completely irrelevant, is it? by the way I do wish YN all the best in the future with their own R&D. They came up with a few interesting bits of kit such as 622C triggers. Sadly they are back at copying without even trying to make some unique external design features.

At best they are highly variable in quality. Digital Rev for example has stinking bad review. Even if you hit the jackpot with optics you still have very slow and mega loud antiquated focus motor. Just buy an excellent Nikon 50mm f/1.8g or canon STM and it will be great for sure.
