has anyone used these triggers to set the shutter on cameras. Specifically I'd like to have three of these on three cameras and when i take a photo with my handheld camera the other two fire simultaneously.

this will be on 3 5d mark 3's

will this work?
 
Yes, easy. Just make sure you get the right cables for the remote cameras. The remote cameras will fire a fraction of second later.

do you know which cables I need for 5d mark 3s?
 
i think u can get the cables for very little off ebay
think with my 602 setup it wouldnt af with the remote, but manual focus it would fire no problems

yes i dont need af

just to clarify do you need to use a remote to get the three cameras to fire or can you take a shot with the camera and the transceiver sends the signal from the hot shoe
 
Might be better with 602's
 
trans on main camera, then cable from 602s behind into camera, that fires shutter. Think it would trigger a flash on the 602 aswell, if that's needed
I'm using sony and just have adapters for when its needed
 
It will trigger the flash but I think it would be out of sync
 
Any number of radio triggers will do this, with the right cable. Trigger unit goes on the master camera hot-shoe and picks up the x-sync firing signal. That triggers the remote units, plugged into the camera's remote firing socket with cable*. The remote cameras won't fire quite in sync with the master, a fraction of a second later - the time taken for master camera's mirror to rise and shutter to open, firing the trigger.

For all cameras to fire in sync, they must all have receivers plugged into their remote sockets (all same make/model) and an additional transmitter used, fired by hand.

*Entry-level Canons have a jack-plug remote socket. Triggers will also fire studio flash heads, with a different cable.
