Yongnuo trigger used with top mount in TTL, underexposing?

Simple as the title really, wondering if anyone else has come across this problem - with the Yongnuo YN622n mounted atop a D700 or D800, then an SB900 or SB910 mounted atop that, everything set to ttl, it is underexposing significantly. Take the YN622n out and put flash straight on camera, exposes fine, tried a different YN622n, same problem!

Am I missing a setting needed on the trigger when used with a top mount?

I can't answer your question, though I'd be interested in the answer. I have seen reports of the Y 622's under exposing. Which is one reason I just went for y 603's. And the cost!
