Yongnuo YN560EX Flash?

I'm tempted to buy the YN560EX speedlite and I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with it? It would be my first flash and the cost of it is what really tempts me.

I'd like to go for one of the canon ones but I'm sure a flashgun can't be worth about £200 extra, plus I don't have that sort of money!

Anyway, yes/no?

Ive got one and think for the money they are a great flash i use mine mostly off camera and the level of control of flash levels is great and easy to use

Sorry to butt in.. Will these work on a 500D?

Forgot to mention that i for ot as a replacement for a jessops flash as it was rubbish and more expensive

Mines on my canon 60d and is great just make sure its the canon model as they do a nikon model as well i think

I've been using one for Nikon for about 2 years now. never had any issues with it. I have a couple of SB900s now too, and the only difference is a bit more power, and TTL ... tbh. The yongnuo 560 does pretty much everything [manually] that the Nikon flashes can. It fires using the CLS no problem [not sure what the Canon equiv of that is? using pop-up flash to fire off cam units]

The YN-560 recycles, at full power, within 2 seconds. It's got a zoom head, it's easy to use, built pretty solid ... you really can't go wrong for the money.

no TTL but very good, build quality is very good too. it looks to use canon mouldings maybe?
