Yongnuo Yn622N Trigger vs Pocket Wizzard

I have a shiny new SB 700 flash and have been experimenting with Off Camera Flash. I would like to buy a trigger so I can use auto fp fast shutter speeds whilst flash is off camera (unable to do his in master commander mode with on board flash.).

The YN trigger seems to do auto fp and iTTL so has many bases covered. Being me, I am wary of buying twice as funds are limited. Are the pocket wizard systems worth the massive extra stretch?

I am concerned as to what happens when I eventually buy a studio kit from Bowens or Lencarta etc and will these triggers work with them?

Thanks for your help.

The triggers will both work as vanilla triggers for studio flash.

I don't know about with Nikon, but with canon the PW triggers can be fine tuned for high speed sync, whereas the YNs give you what you can get from the camera.

Again, Canon specific, but the YNs are more flexible about the flashes you can control from camera, I'm seriously wondering why I stick with my PWs, but the resale value doesn't give me too much of an advantage if I were to try to sell to buy YNs.

Hardy any advantage over the PW.

You can tweak the HSS and update its firmare on the PW but thats about it and for me that does not justify 3x more the price of a YN622.

only you can decide if the extra features are worth the price.

I could get a pair of YN622c a backdrop with two stands and an EZYBOX softbox 64x64 for less then a pair of PW triggers
