Hi, were from Manchester but visit Beverley a lot, which is a great spot.
Also within a mile or two there are a few villages which have won 'village of the year' or such like. Anyway, theyre awful pretty (oxymoron I know) and well worth a peep.

Beverley Racecourse and surrounding areas are all 'common land' so you can trace all over it without worry - and if you like bird pics, there are skylarks all over the Racecourse. A rare bird round our way.

The b&b's in Beverley are a cut above many weve seen.

Ttfn, Neil :)

I want to go to Grimsby.....or Skegvegas

Stamford bridge is nice

Might be a bit far out but Robin Hoods Bay is nice, also Brimham Rocks although there's not much else there!

:plusone: for Robin Hoods Bay. Shops might not be open during the week but there's a nice pub called the dolphin which serves good food. Whitby would also be a good choice if you can find somewhere to stay.

Robin Hoods Bay would be good as there is Whitby, Staithes which is fantastic for pics and loads of other little villages such as Goathland (TV`s Heartbeat) + staem railway. :)

Go to Farndale in North Yorkshire Moors, look for the Feversham Arms at the bottom of Blakey Bank they do lovely meals and do b&b too, they are under new management and this is an old web site but might help you re the phone number.
http://www.fevershamarmsinn.co.uk/ not to be confused with the Feversham Arms in Helmsley, you might need a bank loan to go there! I will give you directions if needed but easy place to find.

A little bit out of your suggested area but how about Lincoln, still be a bit going on this time of year & it's a nice place too, near enough to the coast to combine it with an hour or two by the sea aswell

what about Harrogate .loads of B&Bs there would make good base to explore .loads around there brimham, pateley bridge, fountains abbey. www.fountainsabbey.org.uk RAF Menwith Hill. all within about 20mins. i am sure you would find plenty to shoot.

not sure about shooting menworth hill ***.MOD police mite have somthing to say .

If you decide to go to Whitby/ Robin Hoods Bay there is a lovely little pub called The Flask Inn. They have some rooms available for B&B. The Hubby and I have stayed there a few times, though the last time was perhaps 5 years ago, they also have a caravan park now. So I can't tell you honestly what it's like now, but I can tell you that it was a lovely place to stay for us. We would also drive out that way for a meal on the occasions we stayed in Whitby, so the food was/(hopefully still)is good.

On a clear day, if I remember rightly you can see a bit of Robin Hoods Bay from the front bedrooms.

I'll back up some of the suggestions already given. Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay etc are lovely. I'll also recommend Flamborough. I can't name a B&B but there's plenty around. The scenery around there is really nice. Plenty of picturesque little bays, and you're within spitting distance of brid or filey if you fancy a sandy beach.

You could try THIS. The spa is part of the Faversham Arms Hotel, a well known hotel in the area.

My wife's just booked their "DETOX" treatment for her sister's 40th. They're doing a 2 for the price of one package on it at the moment so you could go too :)

The setup is superb and it's all brand new as it only opened in October.

Might wile away one of your planned days and she's guaranteed to like it, as might you :)
