Hey guys

Just wondering what your experience and view of the Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM? I am using an 80-200 f2.8 nikon at the mo (which is the old pump action) and i love it! I just need something to step it up on the length ie 3, 4 or 500mm.

Any guidance or comments would be great ;)

theres about 5million posts on them but i have one and i have to say its superb.

for the money, there is no better lens in my eyes, but again, there are loads of threads about them, they take great quality shots.

Just one quick snap from a bike trackday

but have a look in the search menu and you will find loads and loads :)

I think its a fantastic lens for the money. You'll need strong arms though cos its heavy. Go get one..you'll love it.

Theres a post and pictures at the moment in the nature section of a stoat taken with this lens, that should answer your question, value for money nothing comes close to it. If I'm been really nit picky mine was just a bit softer at 500mm than 450mm and obviously in poor light it could hunt for focus, however I was often expecting miracles from my D7000's af system!

During the summer for airshows and wildlife the Sigma is my most used lens. I also got a Sigma 120-400 OS as well which is just as good IQ wise but obviously just a bit shorter and as I'm usually using the 150-500 on my 5D3 then reach is paramount.

This was taken recently at f8, 1/320sec, ISO2000 and 500mm. This has been cropped and not much else.

This was taken at Waddington airshow and is just as it came out the camera, but cropped.
