Your favourite Fuji all rounder prime lens is....?

Am about to push the button on an X-T1 and want a wide prime for shooting family hols/kids etc and wanted recommendations on something that is sharp, fast af and as compact as possible. This is going to be a camera I can pop into a bag and leave my dlsr lumps at home.

The 27mm 2.8 looked good, any thoughts on this? The 23mm 1.4 sounds good too but the obscene size lens hood makes it maybe too big? Not seen one in the flesh however.

The 27/2.8 is a good all rounder, if a little dull due to its slow max aperture. My most used lens actually the 18/2 which is useful indoors due to its wide view and fast max aperture.

Edit: AF is OK but not as quick as the latest Fuji lenses.

The question in your thread title is not the same question that you're asking in the thread.

My favourite is the 23mm, I've replaced the stock hood with a vented hood but it's still quite a bulky lens. It's fast, sharp and a very natural focal length with the Fuji sensor and the ergonomics of the body.

As well as the 27mm pancake lens (compact, but not as sharp or fast as the alternatives) you should also consider the 35mm and the 18mm - both of the latter are more compact than the 23mm.
 
AF on the 35mm is slow and noisy. Haven't got the others but for all round use I'd rather use the 16-50 or 18-55 for their fast silent AF. Both the zooms are capable of giving the 35mm a good run for the money IQ wise too. (In practice I do tend to carry a small pouch on my belt with the 35mm and a spare battery in, just in case! )
 
23mm Fuji's best prime lens to date in my humble option for sharpness and focusing speed. I should add I'm comparing that against the 18mm and 35 mm which I also own.
