Your "free" tripod carry strap

I've tried to explain this online before which doesn't work too well, so I decided to make a video.

Thanks for this tip, I've been trying to find an easier way to carry my long lens for a while. This could be very useful during this years deer rut as I'm constantly moving about. Do you know if the long lens straps are better than a normal camera strap? Im guessing the long lens strap may be more padded and comfortable. I think I will try both to see.

Cool tip Steven :)

The dual-roles trick is a great idea. Think I'll do that with a modification to make the strap quick-detachable

Neat trick and like most people I too have a selection of unused straps that can now be put to good use - Thanks. :)

Simple, but a great idea.

(btw, there was a mouse climbing up your T-shirt ;) )

If I were going to buy a strap for just this use I would try the Op-Tech Utility Strap 3/8". It's padded neoprene w/ non slip and the pad unclips from the strap ends.

I tried the strap that comes with my long lens and it worked well. The tripod on its own didn't work so well as I have a manfrotto 055 4 section tripod, the sections are not really long enough. The strap ends can't get far enough apart. The optech strap looks good, being able to unclip most of the strap would be useful.
