Find me the best components I can get for 300 quid for a build to run LR3 and CS5. I'll take speed over huge HDD any day. A quite PSU would be nice too. :)
 
only for PP or games etc ?
if only PP then integrated GPU will do :) and much easier to find right components ;)

Cheers. Yes, got a case and DVD drive. I was really after a quadcore. What's the benchmark of that processor?
 
Dean I'm really glad you raised this. I'd like to update my PC too. I have a couple of questions for you i:-

1) Don't you need an operating system like Vista/XP or something or would this come with some of the kit Lukas as listed?
2) Are they easy to bit all these bits together?

Apologies if this is a hijack - I'm just not IT savvy :$
 
Ryan, I've never built one from scratch, but know it's not that difficult.

No self build will come with OS so you'll have to factor that in. :)

As dean answered already, OS needs to be bought as well unless you have one already running on your old PC.

and it is fairly easy to assamble :)
Just folow the manual( sometimes CPU coller might be tricky) and you will be fine :)
 
Lukas, will my current SATA drive run with the SATA-II?

According to Amazon I can get windows 7 for about £90 or XP (which I'm used to) for about £80. Does that sound about right? For some reason I thought they would be a lot more than that (ie similar to the likes of CS5!)

this mobo has integrated GPU but for web/pp should be fine as you will be using CPU RAM for it...unless you plan to do some 3d etc so then you will need to get proper GPU as it will speed it up.

let me know how it runs once you get it :) I may get one later as well as a second media PC ;)

Ryan, if you are updating your computer then you don't need an OS just re-use the same one as effectively you are just updating it. If the OS kicks off you may need to ring MS but just tell them that you have just changed some of the components and they will sort it.
