I would like some thoughts on this.
It was pretty much just a snap at the local park of a father and son however, it has destroyed a few preconceptions of mine.

Ok, heres the thing, as a shot its fine. Nothing special, its sharp enough, was shot in really strong sunlight with no hood and best of all and this is what has opened my eyes.
It was shot with a 5D and a cheap Sigma 135mm f3.5 OM fit manual focus lens.
In the past i would not have given such lenses a first glance never mind a second but now i am going on a crusade to find more of these old, cheap, cheerfull gems.
I see what you mean now- wholey agree with what you're saying though! I shot an air show with an old manual 70-300 nikon and the pics were great considering the lens is £25!!
