I have liberated a 1978 Zenit EM from my old man, and before embarking on my first shoot with it, wondered if anyone else is still using this old timer- or if there are any pitfalls and little surprises to look out for.....?

It is a beautiful piece of machinery, and in mint condition, so I am looking forward to seeing what I can achieve.

when I had one it kept popping open

My first ever camera.

My only advice is don't drop it on your foot; the camera will win
 
An EM?

Is that the one with the meter window at the front of the prism?

If just watch your metering as it tends to catch the sky beautifully and leave the land a little dark.

But great cameras, I am thinking about getting one of those Photosniper kits they do, should create a bit of a stir at Oulton :LOL:
