Zerene stacker software info

I notice a lot of forum members take there macro shots without a tripod and freehand and get superb results, do you also use Zerene software(or similar) to further enhance the shot, or post processing only?

I used zerene stacker trial version as a LR plug a year or so ago, and found it very good - better than PS - but don't use the technique enough to warrant a purchase!

The plug in only works with the "pro edition" - expensive!!
