Evening
I currently have a D850 with a 50mm f/1.8 and a 24-120 f/4.
I find I'm using the 24-120 for stuff I would have used the 50mm for before, so looking at getting rid of that to put towards a new lens.
Looking at getting a better zoom lens, as I've found I like taking photos of wildlife in my garden.
Doesn't have to be Nikon of course, but does anyone have any recommendations of any other lens that may be suitable? Sigma maybe for Nikon fitment?
Thanks!

I had great results with the Sigma 100-400 on a D500 but not sure if it would be up to D850 standard, if you want longer you have the 150-600s from Tamron and Sigma or the Nikon 200-500.

What’s your budget ?

Well it's not something I do for a living so don't want to be spending loads.
Maybe £500? But preferably less! :giggle:

What focal length range do you want? Are you OK with the 24-120mm for focal length range and are looking for better IQ from a new lens:? Or, do you want longer focal length?

Only about a 100ft garden but will be used elsewhere like zoo's etc

If you're ahppy with 300mm then the Nikon 70-300mm VR takes some beating bang for buck. I use one when travelling light(er) with the D850.
