quick update, deleted and reinstalled lightroom, strangely the tickbox for gpu was still ticked but i was able to turn off withoutit crashing, lightroom running as it should now. my advice DONT DO IT!! DONT TURN ON GPU. thanks to those who replied Ali

cache worked fine, enabled gpu then broke it!!! only way i can see to fix this is to delete and reinstall, as its so damn slow and everything i do now is painful even swapping from library to develope is slow

this is exactly whats happening with me, i did give it a bunch more tries but still cant without it crashing, was hoping someone here might have a workaround.

@mickledore , go to file handling and increase camera raaw cache settings, put it to something like 20 or 50gb, it did help speed things up a bit for me before i enabled gpu crap thingy! more found here

I was reading a thread on slr lounge about speeding up lightroom, I done as they suggested and enlarged the cache file which has helped, but i also stupidly turned on "use graphics processor" but now its god awful slow and I cant turn it off without lightroom crashing. Any suggestions? please...

I had adrian but he broke on me last august in the middle of a shoot, when i got back i emailed them and they sent out a new brian carbon free of charge, their service is 2nd to none. im thinking of buying another one but ultra small to go with my fuji.

Lens arrived, so far so good, its nice and sharp even at 2.8, everything seems smooth as it should be, vc works well, i done quick test taking pics of my bro, hand held 1/20th f4 with vc on and off and what a difference it made, at first with it off it looked ok til i zoomed and clearly see hand...

i dont get paid for my work, and when i do its doing favors for friends or local ice hockey team, I had money saved up for a car and spent half of that on the d800 so spending more on a new lens isnt helping the car fund!! I have already purchased the tamron so i will see how it goes, if im not...

did see this in wex, which also makes it so tempting! the 88mm filter was the only thing i had pondered about really, wanting to get a 10stop and this would make it more expensive.

Hi All, I recently bought a nikon 50mm 1.4 from these forums and while i love the lens ive never been totally happy with its focus, I have been palying with af fine tune and it seems much sharper being at almost - 20 than 0. Is this normal for a lens to be so far out? ive never had to fine tune...
