Welcome to photography - I think we're all our own worst critics
And for my own pennysworth I think you've found some fine shots there. You've captured the lakes in a more dramatic way with moody skies that I quite like. Trust me; the lakes are more like this than sunny days. Perhaps your...
The only real relevance to the photographer was because the article indicated that a witness heard the attacker mention something about paedophile. Someone getting 2+2 and ending up with 5 again.
With regard to my incident, the police ID'd me, gave me a slip (SA88?? - it was 4yrs ago) noting my...
I think this says more about the Forestry worker than the photographer. Although on a rare trip to my hometown and taking photos of the historic market place, I was approached by two policemen and cautioned with the terrorism act for 'taking photos in a popular and built up residence' or some...
Personally, I think that is a better crop. I feel like I'm looking at something more specific now. And I can also see what Chris is saying regarding the 'flow' of the wall. I guess the thing is, this is the shot you have and you have to make the most of it. I'd say this is a more pleasing shot...
I hope you don't mind me being a little harsh but I feel your pain with this shot also. I live near the lakes and take dozens of photos that 'just don't do it somehow'
For me, it's a perfectly good shot, well exposed but there is no point of focus - no subject as such. Sure, you've got the wall...
I really enjoyed the photos plus, the concept of seeing how your work has improved over a given time in just a few shots. Congrats on your post. Inspiration comes in various forms...
I think if this is a hobby to you, you have that luxury to suck once in a while. If you're doing this as a job however then of course there is a certain pressure to perform. I've never been paid to take photos. I think on occasion that they would be good enough but I don't want that pressure to...
I shot this a couple of years ago but from the other side. I think you've got the better composition. The bottom RH gunk isn't distracting to me and it's authentic so I wouldn't remove it but the image does look very blue, especially in the bridge to the castle. Full moon, perchance??
I'm going for the tyre shot in the paddock too. I do like it when a subject is taken out of its usual environment and placed into another that you don't always think of...
I think it's a cliche but it holds water: you are always your own worst critic. Personally I prefer the sage like words of the Gin Blossoms: If you don't expect too much from me, I might not let you down :o)
Sometimes, when none of it seems good enough, go through the photos with a likeminded...
