    SLR in a football stadium

KIPAX has an excellent summary of all this on his website: http://www.kipax.com/licence.php He works professionally in football photography (among other sports), so is the best source of information for all this. I have a Conference licence, but have hardly had a chance to use it this season!

    Celebs Stealing from super Markets

When I found out Worrall-Thompson had been stealing cheese, I said "No whey!"

Make Our Ambulance Service An Official Emergency Service

Do you include people getting utterly wasted on nights out in that? From my experience, drunks make up an extraordinary number of calls I go to - often with ambulances as well. I would include drunken fights in that as well...

Make Our Ambulance Service An Official Emergency Service

I've never understood why they're not on the same footing, and have never had someone tell me the practical difference between "essential" and "emergency" service. Paramedics are to the medical profession what we are to the legal profession, and it's totally wrong to only call them "essential"...

video:Stopped yesterday for photographing in a public place!

Not a letter as such, but the guidelines were posted up on our internet site: http://www.met.police.uk/about/photography.htm This was in addition to numerous briefing slides (often repeated), intranet articles, corporate news bulletins, etc. Short of having senior officers walk around and...

I agree with everything that has been said. Disgraceful.

How to report ebay fraud to the police?

You don't have a choice in the matter, unfortunately. It is not possible for members of the public to "leap frog" and take their cases to specialist units, unless it is prima facie too big for local investigators to handle - in which case, they will be the ones to refer it. When harping on...

    LA Noire

Almost certainly not. If you bought the PC version, your best bet will be to sell it second-hand yourself. High St retailers may give you a return, but unlikely if it's opened, and they'll take it in for a trade if it's a console version.

How to report ebay fraud to the police?

No - report to your local borough / station. PCeU deal with large-scale organised internet-based fraud - eBay is rarely something of interest to them. Their main project at the moment is dealing with the hundreds of thousands of scam websites that appear in the run-up to Christmas and the...

How do you make a picture look like a model

That makes perfect sense. I guess buildings and suchlike also work well because they are the sorts of things we see models made of :)

How do you make a picture look like a model

Does anybody understand the physics behind this and why it works? Is it just as simple as we expect something with so much blur to have been photographed using a macro lens?

    Nottingham strikes nov 2011

Really? So in #3 your main object was a cigarette bin, and in #4 it was the back of the man's head - not the strikers? :s Shallow d.o.f. can work in these situations if the part that's in focus is interesting, but it simply isn't in either of these shots. #1 and #2 all the way :)

    My niece

Really nice portrait - if you can maybe just do a subtle touch-up of the lower-right corner (near where the other chair leg should be) with a little brightness just to give it a bit of definition, I think you'd be nudging much closer to that "perfect" :) Everything else - the pose, her dress...

    Nottingham strikes nov 2011

I think #1 and #2 would be ok for publication, but neither #3 or #4 work for me at all - the main subject is completely out of focus and although this can sometimes work, I don't think it does at all here. #1 is my favourite :)

    urgent help required

Impersonating a Police Officer, sadly, isn't as serious an offence as you might think. It's a summary-only offence (so will be dealt with at the Magistrates' Courts), and only carries a maximum 6 months imprisonment. To those who asked "how hard is it to get police uniform?", just take a look on...
