RAW, pretty much 100% of the time. Then a simple convert in Aperture. OK, i'm going to try something and post it later. But i was concentrating on getting the tones right with this shot, my previous shot was in Fog (below), and some one suggested it would be an excellent place for good vis B&W.

Alan, Good idea - as the bridge is not going any where soon - i'm going to go and retake it with a WAL. It was a 18-55 but i zoomed to get the bridge perfectly central. The people were purely coincidental and I was being heckled by some people outside the pub behind - so i just took the...

Ok, can you point me to an example of a picture of a similar subject that you would like, It is interesting to see what makes a good monochrome for people. this pic is more architectural than art, very lined up and symmetrical so probably doesn't make it easy on the eye. Cheers R

Should you go for blends of grey or more black and white. I guess it depends on the subject and what you want to do - so there is probably no answer to that. Ta Ray

Cool, just what. Need, I have an old one of these that just controls the camera. I obviously have not spent long enough browsing in photoshops recently :) Thanks

    D3 owners thread.

It's ok I've had one for about 2 years ;), but I only just boug the SB900 today. But with an ISO of 5800000000 who needs a flash? Ok - I do, but only because I'm trying more fancy stuff. Does the D3x control the off camera flash like the D7000 or does that still need an on camera flash?

    D3 owners thread.

Speedilght SB900 With the D7000 I can control the SB900 from the camera as a off camera flash. Can i do this with a D3 or do I need to buy another SB900 to be the master? Ray

Tee hee.. I've just ordered a mega PC...

Ach..I'm only joking with you....... Although I must admit having converted to Macs a few years ago there is no way I would go back to Windows for my day to day machine. Although i do use VMWare for Mathcad and other engineering software not yet on the mac.

preventing sun spots - how do I

_______________________ Thanks everyone. At least i feel better now!! I felt like a bit of a turnip not being able to prevent it. I was using a UV filter - which i always use to protect my real glass. I can try without that - but what do most people do - do you use a plain filter...
