Hi,
Thanks for the feedback; it was a semi-wild cheetah (was found injured and rehabilitated but is not able to be released back into the wild). However, we were allowed to get close when accompanied by a ranger. However, the angle we could shoot from was limited, hence the limited choice for...
Hi guys,
Just wanting some critique on this. I originally took two separate pictures that captured different parts of the cheetah but realised that they overlapped so stitched them together. However, I think it's something about the perspective that doesn't sit quite right.. Maybe the body is...
Bumping an old thread but I'm going to the Eclipse in Cairns this year and just looking at buying the Baader Solar Film. The eclipse is going to happen at 6.30 in the morning, so I'm not expecting it to be too bright. I'm a little concerned about how I'm going to shoot the progressions using a...
Ah sorry you're right - the problem with trying to reply covertly at work ;)
Yes the 100-300 does look a bit better with the correct link :) I'm still pretty happy with my 100-400 though; only thing I'd maybe change for is the added flexibility 700-200 MK2 and a 2x tele.. but then that combo is...
I'd say the 100-400 spanks the 100-300 at 300mm...

Have to say I agree with most; not sure of the point of it.. can pay half the price and use a nifty fifty instead. If it was faster then I'd be more interested, but 2.8 is pretty average for a prime

Not a lot in it according to that.. in fact I think I prefer the 70-200!
The F2 looks a lot nicer though...
Love that owl shot Squishy!
Have to say that I went with the 100-400 based on both professional reviews and also general consensus on this site.. I actually really like mine but am increasingly thinking that a 70-200 + 2x TC might be more suitable for my style of shooting... The only thing...
Bit slow on the reply here James, but I have a SS100 with my 450D and can fit in body with either the 10-22/24-105 mounted and my 100-400 at a push.. so it works well.. I often stick my nifty fifty loose in the top pocket as its so small and cheap (and I'm secretly wanting a reason to have to...
Thanks guys; seems like hotlinking doesn't work from that site.. but Frank's shots are pretty much the kind I was looking for. I've also got the 100-400 so hopefully can get some good shots.
Frank; any reason why you stopped down to f11 / ISO400 on the pic in your filter link?
I also saw the...
Holy thread revival I know, but there's a solar eclipse due to happen in November near Cairns, which I'm thinking of making a trip up for and I'm just wanting clarity on a couple of things;
1) Does my camera sensor need protecting (or can I shoot whilst wearing sunglasses covered with solar...
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I now live in Sydney and will be going whale watching next weekend. I'm mostly curious about lens/filter recommendations?
I'm planning on taking my 24-105 and 100-400 on my 450D
1) Will I need something wider? i.e. Did the boat regularly get right alongside...
