Thanks for letting me know about the spelling, wasn't thinking. At least I got it right on Flickr and 500px.

The sky was amazing as I shot this at Shoeburyness in Essex.

    Thinking of India

I took this at Trivandrum zoo in southern India earlier this year and love their expressions.

    Taylor Wessing Photographic prize

I think this is a really good portrait, it makes a change to see a face looking natural. The composition and bokeh is nice and the hair colour of both girl and guinea pig work well with her cheek colour and freckles. I think people can't relate to shots like this anymore as they are so used to...

    Is it just me or..........

I set up an account a while back and must admit a lot of the work on there is of a very high standard and inspirational and some of the best work out there. But I have always thought how most photographers on there are very skilled at post processing which puts me a big disadvantage...

    Nikon 28-300 VR lens

I agree, with DX go for the 18-200 it's a great walk around lens. I used to use one on a D300 and was very impressed with it, the 28-300 is made for FX.

    D3100 v D7000

Have you had a look at second hand D3's as they are a superb sports camera. They are tough, weather resistant and excellent in low light and a lot cheaper than the D3S.

    Self defense with camera gear

I agree with Wayne that a D3 makes a decent weapon. Seriously though if it's a too dangerous situation just let them take it, there is no point getting stabbed and you can always get a new camera.

Don McCullin at Imperial War Museum

I went on Tuesday night to see him in conversation with Kate Adie. I was so glad I went as I think he is truly inspirational, a great guy and I had a chat and he signed a book for me.

    Famous people shots

No need to say who these are of, taken at the Imperial War Museum Tuesday evening. One of my inspirations as to why I became interested in photography.

Don McCullin was one of the reasons I got into photography, a truly inspirational guy.
