I asked him what he was looking at, he was recording different butterfly species and sending the info to the relevant national organisation.
He was such a lovely man, so I decided to take a pic of the moment.

Plainly still enjoying the butterflies despite his mobility issues. Nicely captured.

There's a whole army of volunteers who regularly walk the same walk (called a transect), recording the butterflies. Butterfly Conservation are the people to get in touch with if anyone fancies getting involved.

Bless him, he was so frail on his feet, but undeterred he was enjoying his walk.
