but then we wouldn't get to see drunken cat fights.
It's a small price to pay.

Common sense goes out the window when you are as intoxicated as that.
You don't drink, so what was your excuse?
Just sayin'.
Quite well. A lot obeyed the law and didn't drink.
I'm IMHO one of the few bastions of common sense left.
There is no reason for late night drinking beyond 11pm that I can see, nor for people to buy alcohol as cheaply as it is now. I paid more a soft drink in a restaurant than my friend did for beer. Thats shocking.
Except of course, if you were a shift worker on a 2pm to 10pm shift, or worked in a restaurant, cinema or any other entertainment industry to name but a few.
Yes, the price of soft drinks in pubs is often quite high, sometimes more that beer, here's a thought, let's campaign to make soft drinks cheaper than beer in pubs.
Why do people need to drink in licenced premises after work. There's no need. What's wrong with going home and going out for a drink on your day off.
Dunno. I think it's something to do with it being a free country and that a massive number of jobs rely on the licensed trade. But you're right, an 11pm curfew would make things much more pleasant. It would also stop all that New Year's Eve nonsense too.

I think you're onto something here. I also think it's obscene the amount some people spend on Christmas gifts and the fun people have with fireworks. Let's set a cap on all of these and introduce it under generic "No Merriment" legislation. Should be a great vote winner and give the economy the valuable boost it needs.
In fact ban everything I don't personally approve of or has a chance of being used unwisely or for criminal purposes.
Lets ban knives too - some people use them for hunting or fishing, I like many have a set at home for kitchen purposes - does someone really need 5? 1% of the population may use these kitchen knives in criminal activity so lets end it and ban them!
A minority also sniff superglue... that is next on my list to be banned!
There is no reason for late night drinking beyond 11pm .
more likely to be a P****You need to ban photography in public places then... that guy with a dslr could be a p****, a terrorist planning his next attack or maybe a bank robber planning a raid!
More likely to be Steve gathering evidencemore likely to be a P****
you do know Finland has a drink problem very similar to our own right, binge drinking causing reckless drunken behaviour at the weekends, that kind of thing.
I did try to draw attention to this in the last thread, but sadly it seemed to go over a few heads.
On reflection it may have been the last thread, but who knows? Sometimes I do miss out a day or two on the forum.
Doesn't sex contribute to AIDS? Better ban that too.
It contributes to far worse things than that. For example teenage pregnancy, child benefits, maternity leave payouts and so on. I agree with the ban here
It appears that my partner already has. Never mind, I have a birthday and Christmas in December so things are looking up...Doesn't sex contribute to AIDS? Better ban that too.
Daugirdas in "I agree with ST4" shocker!
Perhaps we ought to triple the price of petrol for those convicted of speeding, to try and stamp out that anti social behaviourYes. Thats why we need to make alcohol much more expensive than them to try price this behaviour out. Its not on. It is not right.
. Alcohol isn't a right, it's a privilidge like driving, the internet etc and it should be taken from those who cannot control themselves with it.
It's not just a minority though. I'd agree if we were talking about Greece, France, Spain or Italy my proposals would be disproportionate.
You've seen how relaxing licensing hours have made our cities bear pits . No, the window of opportunity needs narrowed down. Licensing hours need cut IMHO. Alcohol made harder to get and people prevented from consuming it who prove they behave badly under it's influence. Like these 2 girls here. They're probably not awful when sober so preventing them from drinking will probably be a good thing. Alcohol isn't a right, it's a privilidge like driving, the internet etc and it should be taken from those who cannot control themselves with it.
@ST4 If they prove they behave badly whilst doing it...should it be unavailable to them for life?
