Thanks - a very useful post - I had concidered something like an intermediary step, but i had dismissed it A.) Because with 10k photos to go through and needing to get some posted for both my socials and drivers who use my work (and have paid) then i need to get them into lightroom and get...
Ram maxes out but I hear people using lightroom on a MAC with only 8gb and no problems like this.
Personally I thought its more likely to be the CPU because i am not loading a lot into memory - its the processing of the photo which is slow rather than recalling anything from RAM....
This is...
easier said than done, also I have to write reports and get different angles (which also helps sales) - as i say, electronic shutter is 20fps or 1. No in between, and with 2x remotes set out to capture different angles both linked to me pressing the shutter button on my main camera this is the...
Here is another one which highlights the other issues of photos not loading and just sitting on the "loading" for a long time.

Hi, I thought i had posted something like this before but i couldn't find it. I am starting to loose a bit of patience with the speed and slow navigation in lightroom that I recordered this video to see if other people suffer from the same.
its getting to a point where its not really usable. As...
Thanks all
This has been really helpful. I'll have a look at the Link posted by @Phil V In due course - but it seems I am limited by the camera not the card in this case, so JPG or Mraw is an option, unless i can get one of the UDMA 7 cards mentioned in the link it seems...although looking at...
Thanks for the responses. I presumed that the limitation was the buffer to card transfer speed due to the card being 90mb/s write. From some crude tests (raw files) i can get 7 seconds of shots before the buffer fills - when hammering the shutter - If i was to say get a 180mb/s card (expensive)...
I had a quick search and didn;t come up with too much on this.
I recently bought a couple of pocket wizard plus 3s. These can shoot at the full burst speed of the camera and on my first use i found that the buffer of my remote (Canon 7D mk2) was filled before my subject had reached the focus...
Yes - I've found i can get what i want much better on manual as well, which is fine when you have the time to take a few tests and get a feel but sometimes that may not be possible as in the initial test shots I did, let me try a few more things this weekend
Hi Phil,
I'll test again. Appreciate that its frustrating - but beleive me its not for the want of trying - or reading the other thread, I think thats a bit harsh - I am listening. What I gathered from the last post was to not shoot in TV because the camera does not understand what I am doing...
Thats a good shout - this is what it sets it at so i presumed it was the sync speed... both in P and AV.
More tests tonight. Again in AV -> This was what it spat out - seems to want to control the ISO in AV as well and sets it to auto, always over-rides my setting and pushes it up to circa...
Apart from my trials and tribulations with flash, My new 24-70 2.8 arrived yesterday.
Testing on the usual test subject yeilds something i am really happy with. R5 slightly missed the eye (or do i dare say its front focusing) and got the nose but the colour rendition was fantastic and the...
