Thought I’d chime in that I’m still loving the S5 with the 20-60, 50 and 85mm. I’ve just added the 35 which I’m using a lot for trips to London for street as my only lens. It’s worth noting there are significant AF improvements when using this lens specifically. I have no idea why. It hunts...

Great shots. Wet Groyne also made me snigger!

Yeah at 35mm it’s still really sharp. I also shoot street at 35mm rather than portrait so not have 1.4-1.8 at that length doesn’t bother me much. Largely I work in video though so the 35mm will make its way to the stable at some point because apparently it’s the best AF lens for video

I’ve not done anything as of yet but I will do now you’ve reminded me. I’ll update you when I have. Tbh I was under the impression there was three year warranty too. One year seems like a very short time for what are expensive items but then that is I guess the case for many other tech items.

Nice one! You’re gonna love that lens. I went in to Aperture in London and saw some lovely Leica lenses. It was, however, the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art that absolutely blew my mind. Tack sharp with lovely round bokeh. Gonna be my next lens for sure.

I’ll get some in here in the next week or so. I’ve been working on an video project so that’s taking up all of my time at the moment, especially with my 2020 Intel MacBook just not quite being up to the task in Da Vinci! I’ve taken about 80 or so shots so once they’ve had a brief edit in...

I did, yes. Very happy! I think those three lenses, the 20-60, 50mm and 85mm are the perfect first three for L mount, especially keeping the price as low as possible for the quality. Next will be a zoom but I’ll need to save up for that. The 35mm would be great for video too but for now (at...

Gonna pull the trigger on the 85mm 1.8 this week and I’ve just ordered a nice new Billingham Hadley Small Pro to put my S5 kit in! :)

The 35mm is supposed to be the best at focusing in video so if that’s important, I’d probably get that however in all other use cases I would absolutely go with the 85mm considering the lenses you have. I also have those two and the 85 is next on my list.

The 85mm 1.8 is my next lens. 20-60, 50 and 85 will make a good flexible set of lenses for most situations. Eventually I’ll save for one of the bigger zooms with fixed aperture

Yeah what I thought. Thanks for confirming both! Just took a couple of pics around the house and maaaaaan that 50mm is a great lens! The 20-60 is also very versatile but I do a lot of video so I’ll need something with a fixed aperture across the range at some point. What lenses do we all have...

Yeah and I think the “bad” aurofocus is massively overblown. Single point is actually one of the fastest out there and continuous works absolutely fine unless you are someone sitting in your bedroom unboxing a product. If I’m behind the camera for anything professional there’s no way I’d use...

Just received my camera and lenses. All looks good and I’m excited to get underway but does anyone know if Amazon sell white box or if Panasonic lenses are white box in the uk? I was surprised to see the 50mm was a white box model and not in a branded Panasonic black box, like the camera and...

New L Mount owner as of this Friday coming. Bagged myself an incredible deal on Amazon on Cyber Monday - £1599 for the Panasonic S5, 20-60 AND the 50mm 1.8! I think this camera, going by reviews and the brief play I had in Park Cameras, is a real sleeper, mainly because the reviews on YouTube...

    Lumix S5

You know what’s hilarious about this thread? I was going to come on here and write a thread asking on opinions of the S5, then today I stumbled across this and genuinely thought I’d had some sort of fever dream and wrote this unconscious and didn’t remember doing it!
