    Nikon 24-120 VR PROBS.

Nope, I've not had this problem before. Doesn't sound normal.

    Beginner Dust?

Normal dust will only show up if you shoot something like f11 - f16 etc. If it shows up on f5.6, it must be pretty big and obvious. I would suggest, just take the lens out in a dust free environment and use a rocket blower to see if you can get rid of the problem.

    Beginner Dust?

At least it didn't bother you too much when you come to shooting. On my Fuji EVF I can actually see the dust before I even trigger the shutter! The worse thing is nothing I can do about it because I didn't take a rocket blower with me.

small, compact camera with filter capability

I think the X100 series have build in ND filter? Those are small and compact enough to carry around. Cons are they only have prime lens attached.

18-55 is multi purpose lens and it goes well with the 55-200. When I bought my kit 35mm f2, 56 f1.2 and 55-200 lens, I could buy the 18-55 but I decided not to. Not because the lens is not good, is because I want compact setup and enjoy shooting with prime. If I have mid range zoom, I will be...

The weight is light to behonest but is just me when adjusting the balance when switching from 18mm to 55-200 lol. Truely a great lens to use if you don't need constant 2.8

Making a comeback - But does it need to be dSLR?

My advice is (my opinion only). If you don't see a problem with your eyes, then is not a problem. My expectation is probably low compare to other people, but I have no problem with my XT1 and XE2s. No problemn processing in LR too.

18mm and 35mm is a good combo for travel. I liked zooming with my feet and find my shot then stay in spot and zooming. I do have the 55-200 in my kit but is mainly for portrait or shots where I do need zoom and the IOS. i.e shooting water fall when traveling without a tripod etc. The zoom and...

The 18mm f2 is underrated and get overlooked sometimes. If the focal length works out for you then the lens is great if not, then most likely you will hate it. For me the 18mm is wide enough for my purpose. When I'm on the street I tend to either use 18mm or 35mm. If I don't know when I'm going...

Same for me as well except I use the 35mm f2 on my XT1. The 18mm sits on my XE2s if I take both bodies out. Small compact setup and no lens change require ....... If I'm shooting portrait, I put 55-200 on the XT1 and 56mm f1.2 on the XE2s.

Only you can decide is it worth the hassle of get the 16mm range. You can always sell the 18-55 for the 16-50 (cheap version). 16-55 f2.8 is the only Fuji lens that fits your bill but is quite weighty but weight less then canon/nikon lens. The reasons why a lot of people settle with the 18-55...

The 35mm (my is f2) is nice lens to travel around with. Went to Mallorca last week and altho I had the 18mm f2 in the bag but I decided to stick with the 35mm and the quality is fantastic.

    Grey Imports and Reparis

How do the pro get their equipments repair? Say I bought my lens in HK and travel to UK to do a shoot and lens broke a few days before the event. Is Canon or Nikon UK is going to refuse to repair or replace because the lens is not bought within UK?
