I've got the 50 1.8d, really nice lens for not much money and as you say, lovely portrait lens. @Chuckoir the Tokina 11-20 is still quite new so we need you to buy one and test it for us :). For a walkabout prime I'd like a Sigma 24mm Art but it's a bit beyond my budget at the moment!

    Buying my first DSLR

Wander round a shop and have a hold of them all. You originally mentioned the Canon 70D - which has the flippy out screen. That would be a good choice if you want the DSLR experience (which isn't better than mirrorless, just different, more old school sort of). I was in a similar position to you...

@Chuckoir sorry not been on. Give me a day or two to think about it and I'll pm you. Consider yourself as having first refusal if I do. Cheers. As for the 105 or 140, I have the 105 as mine's a UK model (with the free grip ;)). Don't know why UK models can't come with the 140 like everywhere...

Same here, tried the grip on, felt OK but couldn't think of a situation where I'll ever need it so it's sitting in a cupboard. I'd sell it but everyone's got one already!

Be interesting to see what you think of it, if I ever have any spare cash it'd be hard to pick between the 18-35 or the 24 1.4 Art, I reckon I'd like that one as well. I might be interested in your 18-200 if you've still got it!

I'd rather have ISO displayed than remaining buffer - it would be nice to be able to set your preference in the menu. If Nikon were like Fuji they'd read this and address it in a firmware upgrade. I kind of know when the buffer is full ;)
