Lightroom 7 - "will appear later this year".

Just reading elsewhere that uploading images to their cloud is unavoidable. Not sure if that is true or not but that would be a strange move. Images could be of any subject matter/sensitive/security/private etc. I was on the 9 quid a month photographers LR/PS package, not worked out how I am...

    Fuji x100t vs x100s

The cameras do represents reasonable value and will drop but like always, when do you buy? The F will be overpriced initially and past experience shows the secondhand value drops pretty considerably with Fuji. Before you pull the trigger on the x100s/t I would explore the XE2 with 18/27 or new...

    Fuji x100t vs x100s

Hi Dave, had all the x100 cameras, first, s and now have a t. The t was a disappointment after reading loads of hype about faster AF etc over the s. It is a better camera, button layout etc but the AF is barely faster than an s with all the firmware updates. My belief is that Fuji could have...

    Capture One - discount?

I'm interested in Capture One for pc that is meant to render Fuji files and others better than Lightroom. Seems there is an almost permanent code for 10% off, but during Photokina a 25% code is often floating around. Anyone know if they are usually generous enough to have this discount as a...

Free download of DXO Optics Pro 9

This was all over the wrapper for Digital Camera magazine this month as a freebie. I tend not to buy monthlies any more but it persuaded me to buy. get it home and it's not on the disc, it's a download that anyone can have!

Can't Find Print Utility for Epson R2880 Printer

The led flashes above the empty cartridge when you open the lid to expose the cartridges in the caddy. Also if you go to print something, when the little panel comes up to print and you can adjust the settings, there is a little tab to access the utility.

Worth fixing to keep or sell?

My 28 to 70 is pin sharp. I don't think I could get anything like that sharpness without a considerable outlay. Mine had a new motor but it was worth it. £160 isn't a big price and you will probably get at least a couple of years out of it, and /or a working lens resale price, many going at...

How does the fuji 18-55 compare with tamron 17-50?

I shoot with the 18-55mm on my Fuji XE2 and Nikon 17-55mm f2.8 and Sigma 17-50 OS HSM on my 24mp Nikon D7100. I never feel the Fuji is lacking in any way practically except for the slower aperture.

FujiFilm GFX - Fuji unveil a medium format camera

I still shoot a bit of medium format film. There was quite a leap in quality 'back in the day's hen you jumped from 35mm film to 6x6. I'd guess it would be the same, you think you have superb quality digital APS-C or FF, but then you move up and you see the difference. It won't suit everyone...

FujiFilm GFX - Fuji unveil a medium format camera

Plus Brexit import tax :-) Expensive initially, but not bad if you are a pro earning your keep from such stuff.

FujiFilm GFX - Fuji unveil a medium format camera

Wow... At this very moment the mirrorless Fujifilm GFX (throwback to the old film GF cameras :) ) is being unveiled to the world :) Lenses will be G mount - and G format sensor 51.4 MP - Focal plane shutter ...and a range of lenses for 2017 Fuji engineers have been hard at work ...and isn't...

    Tripod, Monopod or both?

Manfrotto do a monopod that has 3 spindly legs that unscrew out of the bottom to give a little more support. I have it but I don't know the model number! Its OK, not particularly a tripod replacement but gives a little more stability to a monopod. I think monopods are pretty handy, just add...

    Nikon 80-200mm 2.8

It's a great lens, comes in different versions. Combined push-pull focus and zoom, 2 ring focus and separate zoom, screw drive, af-s, several incarnations over the years, very solid, excellent image quality... Might be a bit of a bind on a 'manual focus' body and being lightweight. I...

    Machine gunning

Cheating, as opposed to presumably a good photographer who gets the decisive moment in a single frame. Some of the time luck and experience will get you the image, but not all the time. Experienced and lucky photographers, many of them pro's were glad of the motor drive and then the gripped...

Is there a forum about local Photography clubs?

Leicester Forest and Leicester and Leicestershire both have excellent reputations. There are smaller clubs around e.g. Sileby but don't know much about them
