Hi all currently on a nikon d500
The Nikon 17-50 2.8 is my money making lens.
I want to swap to a Z6 II. Because this is full frame and d500 was crop I belive the 20ish to 70ish range will basically be the equivalent.
I see you have:
Nikon Z 24-70mm F2.8 S
And
Nikon Z 28-75mm f2.8...
Looked into that and apparently it is the same as the 17-55 but a few places I read basically described the same issue I had with the Nikon. From reading it would appear this softness appears when you start to zoom in when the range is that great.
I was pushed today though to buy the Nikon...
I did have the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED but at the time felt it offered no upgrade over my sigma and when I bought it, was almost double its value now.
Potentially feel it might be this. Any other contenders in this range? I have looked but doesn't feel there are many options.
Apologies for starting this thread and never coming back. I ended up having to do work and didn't get a chance to explore. So I tried this lens and it is going back. Overall I found it to be really soft! and the one I had potentially had a problem as it was soft in the centre. Thanks for the...
Hi all,
Was on a recent shoot and my beloved sigma 17-50mm f2. 8 fell from my bag and landed filter edge down. Cracking the plastic and causing the zoom to stick every now and again and during long exposures I am noticing a drift where I believe the image stabilisation (even turned off) is...
Hi all,
whilst on set today my camera came off the tripod (still not sure how) and hit the floor. All is fine except the outer casing of my screen is cracked. Can easily fix it myself, but where do you buy spares to? nikon points you towards fixnation but is there anyone else?
Nikon D500
Morning all,
I was originally shooting on a Nikon D500 for my video projects, but the lack of auto focus support made it risky for tracking objects.
To combat this I bought a Sony A6500 teamed with the power zoom Sony 18-105mm F4. It has been doing fine and has very much paid itself back...
Thanks all for the advice. I think since I already have the sigma, there isn't a clear night and day lens that could replace it. Would appear I need to change focal range to 24-70. Just hate the idea of spending a grand on a lens hurts the stomach.
It might be but for the £400 it cost it is heavy, felt old and didn't nail the focus as quick as the sigma. Took a 3 shot burst to get the best shot. The sigma could nail it on the first try.
Downside is I am loosing the full range the 17-55 offers.
I was really hoping it would just be bam...
Don't know how I missed that one. Looks like a good buy second hand.
I appreciate you get a sharper image on prime but when I had the 85 1.8 and still the 50 1.8 I never used them. Where I shoot more "in the moment" I found I lost more shots rater than got more better quality ones.
