    Moth ID

Thanks to all. Confirms what I saw on a couple of websites. I've not been able to aprehend it - a bit elusive, and cannot seem to get a decent photo. It may be "day flying" but it only seems to move at night, every morning it's in a different location. I understood these are not very common at...

    Moth ID

I've had this guy flying around my house for several days now, but I've not been able to get a decent photo. Looking at various nature sites suggests that this may be a Tiger moth. It's about 30-35mm from nose to tail. Can anyone please confirm the ID?

    Old Photographic Paper help please

As has been said the numbers are the paper grade. I always liked my photos a bit "punchy" so I often used "harder" grade paper, like grade 3. I think grade 2 was the "Normal" grade. I normally used "ACUTOL" developer, but they should work with anything.

    Tiff or DNG

There's an old saying that you never get something for nothing - by the same token, you can't reduce file size without losing something. I don't know anything about data programing, but you MUST lose something in the DNG conversion process if it reduces the file size that much. I prefer to keep...

Skylum Launches Luminar Neo: New Features and a Big Speed Boost

I jut ran a test and from "Browse" to "Edit" is pretty well instantaneous (<1/2 second) Whereas from"Edit" back to "Browse" I have to wait for the catalog to load, which takes between 8 and 10 seconds.

Skylum Launches Luminar Neo: New Features and a Big Speed Boost

I'd say the reverse. If I'm in develop and I go to "Browse" it takes quite a while for the catalog to load, just like when it starts from cold. The actual operation of the program is instantaneous when running develop commands.

Skylum Launches Luminar Neo: New Features and a Big Speed Boost

Not certain what you mean when you say On1 is "laggy"? Do you mean in operation or startup? I find On1 2022 a bit slow at launching, but once running there are no delays in operation and every command is executed instantly. Slow running seems to be an allegation against lots of programs...

Skylum Launches Luminar Neo: New Features and a Big Speed Boost

I use similar products to you but not Topaz Mask. Plus I have Skylum Neo whuch I bought out of curiosity. For masking I use Affinity Photo, which for my use, does everything that PS can do without the monthly rental charge. To dismiss sky replacement as "terrible" is simply churlish and the...

    Affinity

Serif ALWAYS seem to have some kind of price promotion running. There can't be many people who have paid full retail price for Affinty. It's great software at retail, with 50% off it's an absolute steal.

Under "Edits" I found a button that says "Discard Edits" which appears to reset everything.

One thing Neo appears to lack is a "Reset All" button, which restores your image to its original, unedited state.

Topaz software discussion thread. Post any queries, problems, discussions points, etc here!

I've usually found Topaz customer support to be responsive and helpful. However, I submitted a query to them about 10 days ago and apart from the usual "Thank you for contacting Topaz.." etc., I have not yet had a response from them, so I'll repeat my query here, in case someone has experienced...
