    Canon 35L vs Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art

I've had the Canon 35L for years. It's my favourite prime. It's pin sharp, produces beautiful colours, smooth bokeh and the AF is lightning fast, rarely misses a beat. I love the 35 focal length, much prefer it over the 50, so I use this lens a lot. Having said that, I have only heard good...

Sigma 24-70mm dg os 2.8 ART vs Canon

Aha, no I haven't seen this G2 version...silly me! I just had a look, certainly different to the other Tamrons. Seems it's similar price to the Sigma. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have a closer look at this lens.

Sigma 24-70mm dg os 2.8 ART vs Canon

By far my most used lens is the Canon 24-70 2.8L (mki). I haven't upgraded to the mkii as I didn't see a enough difference to justify the cost. In any case the mki is built well and handles great, the one thing I would consider upgrading for is image stabilization! I heard there is an IS version...

Wild A selection from the Italian Dolomites

I got the book today and it doesn't disappoint! I have to say this is an absolute must for anyone dreaming about visiting the Italian Dolomites! It's full of incredibly detailed information about the place, maps, routes, recommendations of places to visit and of course, a fine selection of...

Thanks everyone for your feedback, much appreciated! I'll get back to the shots and try to work on your suggestions over the weekend. Bringing more detail out of the shadows makes sense. I think the shots were originally a bit under exposed to keep detail in the bright sky. It's such a...

    The Sun Arises

I'm no expert, but this is a lovely shot. Perhaps a bit more sky would have been nice to include in the composition. Is this hdr?

Hi all, A few shots from my trip up to the midlands last week. Any comments welcome as I'm struggling a bit to improve my landscape shots. Many thanks!

    I think she's been conned

I wish someone had told me to go for the higher end model when I got my first dslr. It would have saved me money in the long run, rather than getting the beginner gear, outgrow it in 6 months then sell, loose money and buy the camera I should have bought from the start.

is the 7d really that bad?

Absolutely no issues with the 7D at all, I've been using it for nearly a year now. It's really responsive, quick to handle and has amazing build and image quality. I'm more than happy with everything it's got to offer and I don't see myself wanting to upgrade in the near future. It could be...

    New DSLR or Lens+kit

Have you thought about going a step further and getting a 7D, maybe second hand? It's better built, better ergonomics, has better focusing and metering than the 60D. I've upgraded from the 600D and my pictures improved, because of the quick and precise access to all the controls and the 100%...

    Watching the water

Nice shot indeed. I agree with the reply above, insread of the grey sky, I'd rather have the full reflection of the bridge and couple in the composition. Still great shot, nice detail and sharp.
