Exactly as above really. Get a good idea of what the days plan is and try and get half day with beaters and half behind the guns. Take appropriate clothing and footwear too. Get in with the head keeper and do exactly as he says, when he says. And a bottle of scotch as a thank you will usually...
Just to pipe in, don't get hung up on the " kit lens is crap " reviews. Whilst they are nowhere near as good as £1000+ lenses, you can still do a hell of a lot with them and get good results.
Mine and the wife's camera gear all live in our gun safe. Tonnes of spare room and the cabinets dead bolted to the walls on both sides in the corner of the room. Works a treat, and I get to play with my rifles and shotguns every time I get my camera out :-)
I've watched his stuff and found it really useful. As soon as funds allow I'm doing the 4 DVD course with the certification. I know it's not nationally recognised but its the sense of satisfaction and and all the learning that's made want to do it.
I would rather learn from a pro that's making...
