    Startrails at landmarks around England

I very rarely get around to posting here these days but this is a superb collection of work. The shots a beautifully made, the Angel being my personal favourite but also as snappers the appreciation of the work, time and effort involved is enormous.

    Post Apocalypse

I do tend to think that if you can see where a filter or effect has been used, it's not been used well. This shows that's absolute rubbish. As with all art, there can't be rules and each creation has to be seen in it's own context. The shot at the top is just fabulous, subject, shot and...

    Robin Hood's Bay

I find it quite hard to see past the processing on these, which is a shame as there is something well seen and shot in pretty much every frame there. I'm certainly not against HDR but as with anything that's added to what is naturally in front of the camera, if you can see it, then it's...

    Seascapes

Would be impossible to get bracketed shots of the wave breaking like that but no reason you couldn't use a grad there. It would have brought the sky back and enhanced the detail there lots. Not sure that's what I'd like to see though, the sun would have been blinding if you were there seeing...

    Afternoon haze, Paris

To chuck in another 2p's worth, the horizon works really well in the centre of the frame. Placing it there and then having the tower split it like that allows the tower to dominate the shot even though it's pretty small in the frame. Also, having the composition quite right hand heavy and the...

Best sunset i have seen this year...

tis indeed a cracking sunset. Not sure what to add in the way of crit but I do like the very simple and sparse use of detail. Just enough to set the scene and add some weight but it's not competing with the sky and sea for a voice in the photo.

    Sand dunes panorama.

The sky matching the profile and texture of the land is brilliant and such a rare find when that happens this well. Sadly the light hasn't really offered the drama in the foreground that the long shadows of first or last thing would have. I think grandslammer is right that a B&W conversion...

    First Attempt at landscape today...

I've not been around here much for ages and I find that an odd comment to come back to. You may not like backlighting but I don't see how it can discounted as a valid avenue to explore. For me, it's the strong light with it's touch of flare that's bringing life to the images. For a first go...

    Panasonic Lumix LX5

Here is a macro from the little LX, and a close up section from the bottom left of the curled bit. I think the macro is like most things about this camera, not the best you'll find but part of possibly the best all round package????

    Panasonic Lumix LX5

Heya folks, not been around for a while but it's good to see more folks finding the love for the LX5. Still worries me you're not getting sharp enough pics though Alan. I often fill up my car with cameras and lights for shoots but if I'm not working I seldom carry more than the Lx5, even on...

    Jimmy Tourettes sings 'Angels'.

In fairness, with the constant stream of swearing taking attention away from the song, it's not actually as offensive as the original. ;)

    "Panasonic G series" Owners Thread

I doubt any of us mind a nudge, as you say it works. If I have to remind someone of something I've asked I'll try and do it nicely, at least the first time anyway. ;) Anyway, do you think you'll get one? I'd quite like the 100-300 instead but its lots more cash and at 300 will probably be...
