Well I bought my SL66 in 1980 so it wasn't that old and was disappointed the shutter speed mechanism stopped working, but in those days plenty of places to get film cameras repaired. IMO the SL66 was German over engineered with more things to go wrong, the RB67 was crude in comparison but hey it...

If you turn the lens round and mount it's for close-ups. For me the shutter speeds stopped working and had to have it repaired, also for portraits (unless you buy expensive leaf lens), the 1/30 sec flash sync wasn't of much use for me. Anyway I liked it until I bought the RB67 and bronica etrs...

Well colour film is forgiving and VG for cock-ups in metering......as mentioned expose for something grey (or equivalent colour for grey) in the same light and you can't go wrong. http://petapixel.com/2015/08/10/how-much-can-you-overexpose-negative-film-have-a-look/

Coming back to 35mm, my first camera (dunno maybe 20 years ago) was the Canon FTB with 28, 50 and 135mm lenses for £10 off ebay.....the winder was very stiff and silly me didn't do some oiling and of course one day I forced the winder and something broke inside...oh well in the bin it went...

The good old days have gone what was it 10-20 years ago when people were practically throwing cameras, lenses and film away esp at the bootie and even on ebay e.g. bought 100 rolls of Fuji superior 200 iso 36exp, in date for £35.

H'mm if there not more entries for the latest challenge, I would suggest the challenge is discontinued?

Tried to help and assuming the MX is same as KX..went to check and found the viewfinder had sheared off my KX by previous owner...well it was in a pile of junk at the bootie. o_O

Took some B/W shots through my welding glass, dunno how sharp the results would be as the glass was in a helmet and used a zoom at 210mm.......anyway excellent glass for seeing the moon in front of the sun.
