    Olympus Om lenses

Well - a quick update - after a couple of weeks trawling e-bay, I've managed to capture the following - 28/2.8, 28/3.5, 35/2.8, 50/1.8, 135/3.5, 200/4. I've mainly used the 50 and 35 so far, but have had a chance to test all, and I am very impressed with the quality - and the fact that I've...

    I blame eBay...

Congrats! - I had an EOS 5 for a few years - a very versatile and useable camera - I found the VG10 grip a useful addition. I never managed to get the hang of the eye controlled focus selection mind you......

    Olympus Om lenses

Thanks everyone - I tend to mostly use standard-ish lenses, so the 50mm and 35mms are probably my first calls - the camera came with a 50/1.8. I've just got the first roll of film back and I'm very happy with the results. Also did a bit of reading this morning - the 28/3.5 looks interesting...

    Olympus Om lenses

I've recently bought a lovely OM2n (size and brilliant viewfinder being the key factors) - what prime Zuiko lenses should I now be looking for? - an honest appraisal of any gems or dogs to look out for would be very welcome as my Olympus knowledge is close to zero, having largely been a Nikon...

    Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta service

A friend has given me a Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta in beautiful cosmetic condition. Unfortunately, however, the slower shutter speeds are clearly not correct. Could anyone recommend a reputable place capable of doing a service/CLA? Thanks

    Bride taking the michael

Is it really such a huge step from the Pros, who offer unpaid "experience" to assistants?

    Water Rail

Taken a couple of days ago - a pretty shy bird, that was great at using the cover of the reeds.

    Telephoto/Convertor query.

Thanks Stewart - the copy of the lens I have at the moment, is of course hired from you!! - Brilliant service as usual.

    Walters Photo Video...

They've generally got a good secondhand stock as well. Always had a good deal with them.

    ..

I think from memory Error 99, was a non-Canon lens compatibility problem. My 30D triggered it when I used a Cosina lens - managed to get it fixed under warranty - I'm pretty sure it's a return-to-base situation, sorry!

    Telephoto/Convertor query.

I have currently (temporarily) got hold of a Nikon 80-400 f4.5-f5.6, which is great in terms of reach, and I really like it's sharpness. I do, however, find the auto-focus pretty slow, which can be frustrating. My question is related to the relative performance of, say the Sigmas 70-200 f2.8...

    Jessops rant

It is just an "invitation to treat" under English contract law, so they were within their rights, but it's probably not the best attitude to take - most shops would go with the ticket price for goodwill sake. In fairness to Jessops though, I think that it is Nikon themselves that have...
