Camera shake and printing, will I see it?

Forgot to update this thread! I ended up taking the plunge and ordering a print. 80x40cm from Trade Canvas Print. Turned out really nice! From a normal viewing distance the shake isn't a problem. Sadly the print is really dark, easily a stop darker than I expected from the image I exported. I...

    London Around north London

I've tried to shoot the milyy way from ally pally, no luck sadly. I think you'd have some more success with a grad ND to block out the city lights, but it's an expensive experiment to run if, like me, you don't have the correct filters to do the job! I'd say you'd need to head into deepest east...

B&W Black and White Alps from Above

Over the Swiss Alps yesterday evening and the light was beautiful. The mountains at this time of the year are quite drab and grey as the greenery dies back awaiting the snows, but the contrast between the highlights on the peaks versus the shadows of the valleys was really stunning to see. I'd...

Camera shake and printing, will I see it?

Thanks all, the prices on trade canvas print seem decent, I'll perhaps order one up from them. @Harlequin565 thanks for your kind offer. I've tried a 100% crop print on my home inkjet, not good quality of course, and it seems "okay". I've taken a few photos in the last day or two I'd also be...

Camera shake and printing, will I see it?

As in the bit you quoted, this was an opportunistic shot, I was shooting earlier in bright light with the ISO at 64, if I had time to set up I'd have shot a higher ISO. I hadn't considered canvas, I was going to do a giclee print (probably epson semi gloss paper) with a foamex mount, hung on...

Camera shake and printing, will I see it?

Thanks all, I've just done a test print at 320dpi on my home inkjet, the light blurs are about 1mm in length in the foreground, I'm going to stick it where I will normally look at it and see how it looks from a viewing distance. I've only just bought this D850, I did consider the Z7 with the...

Let's see some sunrise and sunset shots

2-3 days ago, one of the most intense sunsets I've ever seen.

    Still worth buying an dSLR?

I 100% agree, I think the D850 is the last of the great DSLRs we'll get. Why did I get one not the Z7? Unproven, single slot, probably not a better image, immature mount, the list goes on. I'll wait till Z7 mk2 or mk3 then will hop over.

Camera shake and printing, will I see it?

I've a photo which I'm really happy with and I'd love to get it printed, taken 2-3 days ago when there was that great sunset we had in London (and I assume everywhere else). The bad thing is that there is an amount of camera shake which shows when opened at 100%, though fresh out of a D850 full...

Bought a D850 just the other day, sure hope it's not the end of DSLR.....

Nikon mirrorless definitely on the way

I agree with the wide open bit, but in my experience a f/2.8 lens shot at f/4 produces a nicer result than the f/4 wide open. Also the nice glass and good tech seems to go in the f/2.8 glass. Just interesting to see what others are doing.

Nikon mirrorless definitely on the way

This may or not have been covered in this thread, but I've placed my pre-order for a Z7+FTE and will be using my 24-70 f/2.8G lens on it. With that said, I rarely use the lens at f/2.8 and am considering the f/4 for the small compact size and native mount. What are others doing? Handing in the...

    OM-1 Exposure Meter

Hi folks, I've been given by my Mother her original 1975 (I think) Olympus OM-1. It's in great condition and mechanically works perfectly. The old cell battery for the light meter was still in the camera, probably an original from the 80s, but it was a bit leaky so I tossed it. Naturally that...
