    Printer for B&W?

I purchased an Epson XP 970 printer and it's really difficult to get b&w prints without a cast - is there a printer that can print b&w accurately that's around £150 max?

Where has all the wildlife gone?

I live in the sticks (east of England) and I've been out at different times of the day with my camera between dawn and sunset and I've noticed a drop in wildlife activity, mainly mammals. I've hardly heard a muntjac bark let alone see them and it's still rutting season just about. The birds are...

Could I use a video capture device to record viewfinder?

That's what I want to achieve but most people use a field monitor that can record so wondered if I could achieve the same thing but using a capture device hooked up to my camera and phone.

Could I use a video capture device to record viewfinder?

I see there are some expensive options to record your EVF, which I don't want to do as I'll only need to do every now and then. Would it be possible to link up a video capture device to my A7RII and then record the EVF on my phone?

Wildlife and nature photographers - what do you do when dogs are off lead?

I love dogs, especially my Sprockers, but it makes me pretty uneasy when I'm out in the field and off lead dogs decide to run at me, it's become quite common to have this happen where I live. I suspect the dogs aren't used to seeing people carrying the gear I use and maybe feel intrigued or...

    The Badger & Hare

I was trying out my Sony 200-600 last night hoping to come across a fox, but instead came across these two hanging around with each other. It was about 8pm and overcast so the light wasn't great. I had to add some noise reduction and a little sharpening as I was hand holding. I really like the...

Focus tips for 600mm lens (Sony setup)

Thanks for the tips! @TCR4x4 do you mean you use flexible spot small? I've just played with this option and it seems like it may be useful in the said situations. I also see Lock-On Expand Flexible Spot could be useful too.

Focus tips for 600mm lens (Sony setup)

I finally got my mitts on a Sony 200-600mm to go with my A7R ii. I took it for a test drive yesterday and missed some nice shots due to the AF focusing on foreground objects such as low hanging branches. Any tips without using manual focus to get my setup to focus where I want?

    First bird shot, Red Kite

I was out doing some filming and came across a local red kite out looking for breakfast. It was a bit of a dash to get the photo but I got something usable at least. I find Red Kites yo be very elegant the way that they hover around in the sky. They certainly aren't shy with people around.

    Flash: Even outside lighting

Currently I use little battery lights for when I light a macro scene but flash provides a nicer look for what I want. I was playing around with a new Godox 350o and my room was low lit and decided to bounce the light off the wall behind me and it gave me stunning results. When I use a soft box...

Answered Adding an image direct from Flickr?

I think I've seen people add their Flickr images to a post, if this is possible, what is the code to add to the post body?

Orange flashing light on V300 scanner

So the problem was that my Mac isn't giving any meaningful errors so I tested it on a Windows PC with the Epson scan software and it was telling me the lid wasn't closed as I had a slide holder in there from my DSLR scanning kit and it must have been keeping the lid open a bit too much. Now it's...

Orange flashing light on V300 scanner

I have a used V300 Photo scanner and while using my Mac (Catalina), if I choose "scan mode: transparency negative" and then overview, it starts to scan but then an orange light starts blinking and I get an error saying "overview scan timed out". Has anyone had this problem?

Using a 1:1 dilution on your film

That's very helpful, thanks for your input!

Using a 1:1 dilution on your film

@trypdal that tank is a little two reel 35mm/one 120 roll tank I got in a kit. If you use stock without a 1:1 dilution, was you able to reuse it and what sort of times did you use? Edit: When you say "stock", I assume this means straight from the bottle without any additional dilution?
