    Crested tit.

Hi Peter Possibly not as many pixels-per-crested tit as I managed, due simply to good luck on my part, but you captured a lovely pose and with plenty of detail and nice colour balance. Your image illustrates the crestie's character really well. Thanks for sharing. Gary

Thanks for the comment John and a good point well-made. I do like a close crop though. Gary

    Crested tit

Have just returned from a few days in the Cairngorms. Weather was, of course, a bit tricky so many of the birds that I would have liked to have seen did not show up. I did though get nice and close to a few crested tits. Some images are below. Hope that you enjoy. Gary

    my best turnstone shot ever

Beautiful image, Jeff. I think that I would have this one on the wall. Credit to your skills to get so close and to get the angle. Gary

    Kingfishers

FWIW, the tight framing works for me. Outstanding detail in these images. Gary

Hi Dale Thanks for the comments, you could be correct. Below is another photo, just about showing the darker legs and the yellow patch better.

    ? Warbler

I spotted this little bird yesterday which, I think, is a willow warbler. Very happy for the experts here to advise if I am wrong. Thanks for looking Gary

Some great photos (and bikes ) there Trevor. Reminds me that I should photograph my dad's collection of bikes, one day ! Really like the angles and light in these photos ! Gary

    Dipper

Hi John Thanks for the comment; below is a slightly brighter version of the overall image. The first image represents the actual scene better as this was shot in a shady river (Derwent) valley with dull light. I think the second image probably looks a bit better than the original though...

    Dipper

A quick dipper shot with the Sony A7R5 and Sigma 100-400 lightweight set-up at Matlock Bath, yesterday. Most people here will know that dippers are a bit tricky to photograph, given the contrast between the bib and the rest of the head and body. This is my excuse, anyway, for having some blown...
