the reason i ask is b/c i am pretty much ready to get the g12, i really like the look of it, but don't want to get it and then find out some newer model G12 by canon is due in a month or whatever

cool, still kinda unsure how it would work, as i thought that teleconverters went in between the lens and camera, or can you just stick them in front of the built in lens and they work the same? thanks for all the help btw much appreciated :~)

thats good, 150mm is borderline ok for surfing i guess, would be really sweet if i could add a 2x teleconverter / lens somehow, i heard that it has a lens ring so is this in anyway possible?

thanks for the advice people, can i ask, will i be able to still use this to get some reasonable shots at a distance from my subject? i know the camera has a digital zoom and wondered what the quality i can expect (i will be taking photos of people surfing btw)
