Amazingly poor light today, but as it's a small show, and the Arrows were using it as a base, rather than doing a full show, so got some interesting shots. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Personally, I'd slice a chunk off the top (to just above the whispy cloud) and a smaller chunk off the bottom and have a a 1:3 ratio 'widescreen' shot. Love the colouring. :)

Jean - really lovely shot, as has been said. I'd agree with John (Dark Star) regarding the contrast, although a slightly bolder black border may serve a similar purpose...? (AKA perceived contrast)

Loving the shot for direction - I like the bent pins, adds character to the short, otherwise it would be just too uniform for me. Future - I know the cracker isn't the focus of the shot, but the blown bits on top the cracker draw my eye a little bit too much, which distracts from the actual...

Great idea, and well executed! Would be interested to see how a slightly larger canvas looked, to enable you to play with the figure composition slightly. The height in the portrait image above gives it an added sense of space IMO, but you would obviously be in danger of losing some detail...
