Industar-69 2.8/28 Chaika lens on a Canon EOS 650d body?

Hi all. I recently picked up an Industar-69 lens at a local flea-market very cheap as I'd read somewhere it could be used with my EOS body (with a bit of tinkering). It's a potentially great compact pancake lens so got it on a whim. I ordered an M39-EOS adapter and hoped for the best - but...

What wide angle lens for Canon?

Thanks mate. I'm actually watching that one, saw it in my searches last night :)

What wide angle lens for Canon?

That seems like a fair price for the 11-16 2.8. I've been keeping my eye on eBay and the classifieds, bit some go for £250 upwards. Be interested to see what you think of it, please post back first impressions (and your astro shots! ).

What wide angle lens for Canon?

Great help Thanks guys. I forgot to mention I'll be doing star/night photography too so the large aperture would be appealing. Does anyone shoot astro at f4 just out of interest? And I presume that's the Tokina 11-16 f2.8?

What wide angle lens for Canon?

Hi all I have a Canon 650d with kit lens (18-55mm) and would like to experiment with wider angle shots. I like shooting land/cityscapes, especially long exposures. I'm looking at the Canon 10-18mm EF-S STM lens as a budget starter lens, but are there better lenses out there for similar money...

Canon: Using hotshoe accessory with built in flash?

I recently purchased a hotshoe diffuser to use with my Canon 650d's built-in flash. When I got it I tested it successfully, but now every time I mount the diffuser the flash won't fire. I know there are contacts in the hotshot to disable the flash - but can this be over-ridden? The...

    Pocket sized 35mm SLR?

I've only ever used a P&S and an SLR (never a rangefinder), so not sure. I like being in control and experimenting, so would probably give one a go anyway. I like the idea of being able to carry it around easily on holiday or up mountains!

    Pocket sized 35mm SLR?

Ah thanks for the heads-up! So if I do find a real XA in my budget I should snap it up? It doesn't have to be an SLR, just something with more control than a point & shoot. Maybe that was a bit misleading!

    Pocket sized 35mm SLR?

Would that be a vintage one or a retro one? ;)

    Pocket sized 35mm SLR?

Yes, just been looking them up; The XA2 & 3 don't have the aperture control I'm after. I have seen a few XA(1)s currently on at a low price with no bids (and in usable condition) - maybe there will be a frenzy in the last few minutes?

    Pocket sized 35mm SLR?

joxang - budget is ideally less than £30, but just been looking at XAs on ebay and looks like I could pick one up for about a tenner. Not after world class optics, just something to shoot my ever-growing stash of 35mm...

    Pocket sized 35mm SLR?

Olypmus XA is in the right direction, if only it had focus control! Maybe a rangefinder - what sort of thing would I be looking for? I'm just a hobbyist that loves analogue but still learning about kit.

    Pocket sized 35mm SLR?

I'm looking for a bit of advice on small 35mm cameras. I have a Pentax S3 SLR which is my favourite analogue camera, but it's a bit bulky to carry round all the time. So, I'm looking around for a compact/pocket-sized 35mm camera with a bit more control than your normal P&S; manual focus...

Ilford FP4 Plus film - what am I doing wrong?

No, the S3 doesn't have any metering nor did I have a handheld meter, so it's a guestimate. The exposed areas are nicely dense. The Epson scan dialogue features sharpening, which I set to 'medium'. This helped the colour neg scanning, and thought it would be an adequate setting for B&W...
