    Charity shop bargain.

After a bit of checking, it seems that the newer versions of the Vivitar 283 have a trigger voltage of around 9 volts. So I went back to the charity shop and they had reduced the price to £1.00, so I snapped that up. On getting it home I checked the voltage and it was a nice safe 8.5 volts. A...

    Charity shop bargain.

Found two flashguns in a local charity shop. Jessops 360 AFDN and a Vivitar 3500, £7.00 for the pair. Both working 100% as they should. There was a Vivitar 283 in the shop too, priced at £4.00, but Botzilla said the trigger voltage was way too high for a digital camera so I passed on that one.

When things pop out at you from an image.

I took this shot in February 2005, the national cross country champs at Cofton Park, Birmingham. I took the shot of Mark Whitmore, who ran for my club. Charnwood A.C. I looked at this image again recently when going through some old stuff and noticed the runner in the red shorts from Burton...

I went down to a local 10k race this morning to take a few snaps. Then at the finish I noticed Meghan Beesley of Birchfield Harriers who finished 3rd lady. Meghan is better known as an international level 400m hurdler and this was her first 10k race. This is her on the sprint to the finish line.

    Pixsy, are they any good?

A quick response from Pixsy says it is not 'commercially viable' to proceed. As I told them, it is not about the money, it is the nature of the site. Whilst the image they used is not 'porn' but the sites it is on are mainly pornographic and not something I would like to be associated with.

    Pixsy, are they any good?

Thanks for the input. I am not really bothered about making any money out of this, it is the seedy nature of the sites involved that bothers me. I guess I should follow through with Pixsy and hopefully get the images taken down.

    Pixsy, are they any good?

Last month I uploaded a few of my images to Pixsy, mainly to see how it worked. One of my images produced 30 matches across 7 countries. I am not bothered about getting money for this, I am more concerned about the image being used without my permission and more concerned about the type of site...

    LSU athletics.

I was assisting the commentator at the Loughborough Students open meet on Wednesday, great evening of athletics, but unfortunately the gantry does not provide the best viewpoint. Hoping to get trackside for the next one.

    Gone!

Many years ago this was an independent camera shop. I got my first SLR there, a Zenit E, closely followed by a Nikon EM and then a Nikon FM. Sadly missed.
