Pro Photographer - Cheap Camera Challenge - Updated videos

Yes, looks like that worked (vBulletin and xenforo forum software embed YouTube videos slightly differently, it just needed a small change to the bb code) :)

    Anbody getting winter tyres

+1 for snow socks, I usually buy a "winter hack" for driving in the winter as well, winter tyres are all well and good, but it doesnt stop some so-and-so sliding into you and denting your pride and joy. so rather than spend the £4-500+ on winter tyres and rims, I just buy a cheap car to do me...

    Niagara Bird And Reptile Sanctuary

    Focal lengths clarified

Ah, that makes sense. So basically the focal length is still the same (as it is a mechanically set value) but how the sensor percieves itis different (i.e no more or less zoom than a ff would have, just a tighter crop straight out the camera?)

    Focal lengths clarified

Hi Darren, thanks for the reply. Nope, never used a film camera in my life, and in all honesty probably never will. This is not so much a cropvsfull frame question, as I will eventually move over to FF when I see fit. This will not however, desuade me from buying lenses for my crop camera for...

    Focal lengths clarified

Guys, Sorry for what may very well be a totally silly question, I had a search and could not find the info I was looking for, but im currently trying to get my head round focal lengths and their affects on distances. As I understand it, using a long focal length lens (for example a "bigma"...

    what lens? (D3100)

luckily im not vain enough to care how my setup "looks", only how the pictures coming off of it look  and I have a planned upgrade to another body soon, most likely a D90 :)

    what lens? (D3100)

yeah must admit im being swayed more toward going down the 70-300 route. thought there may have been options I wasnt considering though, but It seems to come recommended as a good starting point anyway, thanks

    what lens? (D3100)

interesting, it would seem there is not a terrible amount of differences in prices as i was prevously led to believe. Does anyone know of any reason why someone would choose the 55-200 over 70-300? surely the one with more reach is always going to be slightly more desireable? even if it is...

    what lens? (D3100)

Guys, Looking for suggestions for another lens for my D3100 camera, I feel I am being limited now by the fact I have only the 18-55 kit lens, and am looking to upgrade to something a bit more versatile. Nothing particularly specific in mind, Im just looking for a cheap versatile lens that...

    Rules on travelling with Cameras

Sounds like an experience. Id rather them spend 2 hours probing my camera bag than certain other areas  Good to know, aye, I usually always check the weights on the house scales and make sure they are underweight.
