Best and worst handing film worst

It's hard to think of worst bodies as most cameras are made to be usable. Old box cameras or folders with tiny waist level finders are pretty crappy to use and handle. I kind of agree with both ChrisR and NickT; the Mju-II can be pretty fiddly with its tiny rubber buttons, particularly when you...

    Another Novice Question - Scanners

If you are talking about the V500 then its maximum actual resolution is about 1250DPI but you need to scan at 2400DPI to achieve that, so its actual detail level would be ~2800x2800. For reference going above that will give absolute no improvement.

    Olympus OM10

If you get sick of the manual adaptor go find an OM-40 body, has the shutter speed ring around the lens mount like the better OM bodies do.

Indiegogo to support processing 1200 rolls of 1950s film...

People keep saying it's not worth it unless the photos are good, the thing is the guy who runs this doesn't care if the photos are good (though that's always a bonus), it doesn't matter if this guy isn't the next vivian meyer as he just wants to preserve the moments taken in those photos for...

    Film Kit Reviews...

My mistake i thought it was an old part of the forum that had been neglected because of the linked thread being titled "Help shape our Review section overhaul" and briefly looking through it just showed tech spec posts with the top two being from 2015. It's not a terrible idea, the Pentax...

    Film Kit Reviews...

Looking through the review section it reads more like a poor man's wiki, you'd be better off encouraging people to contribute to the camera-wiki.org pages like i do every so often, they allow lenses as well. I pretty much tidied up all the pages for the cameras i own so that everyone can...

UK Film Lab moving to Canada

I'm fortunate enough to have this lab in my town, and they have been in business for decades and have good service and the guy who runs it knows his stuff. Their scan options are really good, everything from your basic low res jpg to excellent big TIFF scans all scanned on some model of Noritsu...

    "Universal camera" kick starter...

I feel like i'm the only film user who doesn't think Kodachrome was that great, not shot any personally as i was too late to film to have that chance, but i've scanned a load of it and projected some and thought it was OK, most likely better than the other colour films back in the day but wasn't...

Just Brought A Epsom V500 Any Tips?

The Epson Scan software is fine but much maligned for reasons i don't understand. This short guide should help you get the most from the scan, you want to get the most dynamic range from a scan then you can fix contrast and saturation in post, scan to TIFF. Not sure if you are new to film but in...

Help dating some old glass plate images

I was thinking this morning about something that didn't cross my mind before, in the auction lot i got these plates from were six zeiss 9x12cm plate holders (they still have unused plates in them amazingly), i'm wondering if the glass plates i have are reductions from that to slides. The images...
