Yes. They are indeed inflated. Especially considering you get a free XQD card with preorder in UK. However, they do advertise stock while retailers don't :)

At least on 500px you can actually organise images in galleries in the order you want. Just drag&drop them using your mouse. This is only in galleries, not in the photostream that is always in "upload date" order.

Anyone got their Z7 recently through standard retailers? I preordered one through Grays of Westminster in September, even paid it in full to secure my order, but still no show. They say a few weeks as they still go through waiting list. Perhaps I should have gone through grey instead of Grays...

I also couldn't care less about the missing card slot. I would actually much prefer UHS-II SD card if anything. What concerns me is the very low declared battery life. I know it is CIPA standard, but still look terrible when compared with other cameras. I was waiting for this, but not...

I think it is time for an upgrade. I had one of these older models (RS-7) and recently replaced it with a brand new Sport Breathe and it is much better in many ways. Better fabric, more comforable to wear. Redesigned fasteners and carabiners are quieter and feel more solid.

I am using Gitzo 4-series model GT4552TS + Arca B1 head + Wimberley sidekick. It is a relatively lightweight and very portable setup. I can easily pack all of this into an airplane hand luggage. I am sure it would handle much bigger lens that I am using it with (300mm 2.8 + 2x TC)

I actually took quite a few of animal pictures when I was there. Beautiful bats (flying foxes), exotic birds, herons, lizards, ... Still I would take the full frame camera and definitely a long lens.

As other say, VR/AF not needed. Much more important is to master focus stacking and processing as you generally want everything to be i focus. Lenses with perspective correction (tilt/shift) make things easier.

I think the best use is to be able to reduce shutter time when shooting with flash and open aperture at daylight (outdoor portraits).

Never used the BH-25. I think these are probably for monopods or extremely light use. If you want an all-around ball head for DSLR-like body and normal sized lens I wouldn't want anything with ball diameter smaller than ~35mm. Every head has to balance between size/weight and stability. I...

Q3i is actually quite light (375 g) for 38mm ball diameter head. It is lighter than many generic 36mm ball heads. Yes you can get something slightly lighter, but most likely it will be nowhere close to the same experience and weight difference will be rather small. Smallest Feisol CB-30D ahs...
