    Goldfinches, Goldfinches, and more Goldfinches

I often get upwards of 20 goldfinches devouring the sunflower hearts I put out. That is until yesterday when I sat down to do the RSPB Garden Birdwatch and just saw 3 of the buggers!

    Dragonflies - Communal Thread

That's great to know thanks Mark, I couldn't quite place it (I'm no expert) as male or female but that makes sense if I had the wrong type!

    Dragonflies - Communal Thread

Took this one in Exmoor last week: A banded demoiselle, but I'm not sure if male or female?

    Lundy Island.

I'm actually going there next week too so would be interested in the answer. Out of interest how are you getting there? The ferry doesn't go on the 19th according to the timetable.

    South-West England North Devon Wildlife

I am visiting North Devon next week and wondered if anyone had any advice on good places to go for wildlife photography? I'll be staying near to the west side of the forest. I'm hoping to visit Lundy to see the puffins and other seabirds on one day. Thanks, Phil

Any men use the black rapid sport -2?

I'm 6'2" and have the BR Sport, didn't realise there was a -1 and -2 version, but it's this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005HWC6PI/ It's fine for me when attached to the camera body, but I find that if attached to the tripod foot on a longer lens it could do with a bit more length for when...

    Visit to Wildlife heritage foundation

Fair enough, if I'm fortunate enough to get there again I'll try it with the hood! I did end up with green paint on the rim of my filter :D

Not at this place I'm afraid, the hood sets you too far back from the mesh so it ends up in shot.

    Visit to Wildlife heritage foundation

Thanks Steve. It was actually hammering down with rain for about half of it, but then the sun came out thankfully!

    Visit to Wildlife heritage foundation

I was there a couple of months back (great place) and took my 7DMkII and 100-400mm II lens. So an exact match for you! You have to get your lens right up against the fences (square mesh, big enough for the centre of your lens to see through), so make sure you have a UV filter on to protect the...

    Coding for Apple/ Androind apps

I have made a couple of iOS apps, but I am already a programmer. If you have no programming experience you will find it extremely difficult. There are systems like phonegap which let you build and compile basic apps using HTML and Javascript which may be a way in, as the learning curve would be...
