either way even if its not a genius suggestion its appreciated, I did consider it but then I would not be able to use it on the 5d and go megawide

If I've got this right, the 17-40 would become a 27.2 - 64mm on the crop body (*1.6) and give me almost the 24-70 range and it would loose some of the issues with the clarity at the edges, looking at the 2nd pic by Anorakus the quality at the edges does seem to be a bit of a worry .... Raymond...

I like it, the reflection good and has as very nice feel to it, however the brides dress is blown out in the non reflected half of the image and the overall exposure on the top half of the image is a bit over for me, if you could darken the top section down it would be fantastic Phil

After posting on this thread that I dont use mine much ... I took some pics today with it of 2 week old kittens that my sister is hand rearing, in a darkish lounge, this lens did the business :D and all thanks to this thread for making me put it back in my bag

I dont use the 50 much tbh, but some of that was just lazyness as I had zooms that covered the range That comparison is quite interesting, the 24-105 seems sharper and also the whites whiter if that makes any sense and Im looking at it correctly Thanks Phil

you can take pics, there are areas you canot use flash even if you wanted to, as it can upset/damage the fish (some of the deeper diving fish that are not used to bright light etc) a circular polariser to remove reflections from the glass would be good, and the light is ... well ... not...

I am drawn to the shadow too in the original image and can see what I think you where trying to capture from your text I've tried a different crop Phil
