    Nikon Z6 and Z7 mirrorless

I tried one photo at f1.4 and one at f9. With both I set the aperture first and then used manual focus. It was so easy! If you're familiar with focussing screens from back in the film camera days using manual focus on the Z6 with focus peaking was even easier. I just can't emphasize how easy it...

    Nikon Z6 and Z7 mirrorless

I had a Z6 on loan for a few days and I tried manual focus with my 85/1.4D lens with focus peaking turned on in camera. Oh my, manual focus was a snap!

The Amazing Sony A7 / A9 / Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

@rookies check out darktable.org It seems to be a lightroom alternative and seems to be pretty comprehensive. To be fair, I haven't tried it out yet. "darktable is an open source photography workflow application and raw developer. A virtual lighttable and darkroom for photographers. It manages...

Manual focus on the Z6 - wow, what a joy to use. I tried it with my 85/1.4D lens. Focus peaking - wow!

Oh, for sure! I wanted to see, though, if the VR could compete with the IBIS and for my purposes in this shot it did. In other situations I'm sure the IBIS would be much better than the VR.

    Sigma 150-600mm contemporary

We've had a couple of weeks with no rain but that changes tomorrow so I thought I should head out to Harrison Mills (Harrison River-east of Mission, BC) and check out the bald eagles. The Fraser Valley bald eagle festival is next weekend but who wants to do that in the rain?! There were lots of...

Let's see some sunrise and sunset shots

Some beautiful photos in here. Here's one from this past weekend in Vancouver, BC. The black speck near the top just left of centre is a jet leaving YVR. Bringing this thread back from the basement... Went to the big city on the weekend looking for sunset opportunities, of course I was in the wrong place at the wrong time but managed to get this while on the way to a restaurant for supper. Sunset%20in%20the%20city%20by%20Paul,%20on%20Flickr']...

    Nikon Z6 and Z7 mirrorless

Hi Z users. I love the concept of face/eye detect on a Nikon. I’ve a question regarding face detection when photographing people in action. I regularly take photos of kids in track and field and volleyball and basketball teams/games. Can face detect be turned off and the focus spot moved around...

    Nikon flash setup for OCF

I've an SU-800; I have found it to be unpredictable in when it will work so I purchased a Godox transmitter and a couple of receivers. Can't go wrong with that.

    Spiderman

Spiderman showed up to the meet and greet at the elementary school. Supergirl was supposed to arrive as well but it turns out she was a bit late. Must have been an emergency somewhere. You're late! by Paul, on Flickr
