Actually, there is a good reason to go for 150 - it has less magnification hence it is easier to work with.

You might want to take a look at Tamron 70-200 f2.8 VC too.

Hope not. We don't really want just one major player to remain. Especially in these extremely difficult times on camera market. We, as consumers, will lose a lot if Nikon fails (btw I own Canon system at the moment).

If you're not a brand snob you'd be more than happy with Tamron.

If 24mm is wide enough, take a look at Canon EF 24mm f2.8 IS USM. Compact, light, fast, stabilized, well made, excellent IQ, cheep on filters and within the budget.

Although 6D is great for low light, I think for wildlife and macro 70D would be more appropriate. It has better auto-focus system and considerably more reach. Also should not be ignored, this choice will end up notably cheaper, since no lenses have to be changed.

Looks nice, but also a bit busy with all of these dials and buttons spread around. There would be a compromise with the usability just to make it feel retro...
