Lack of sharpness could be down to a whole load of different issues, ranging through user technique, camera settings etc. First thing to do is to establish just what 'sharp' means for that particular lens by testing it on a range of static and moving objects and making sure it is properly...

I know a number of guys - on national papers, big agencies etc - who have switched from Canon to Sony A9 bodies. Some have gone the whole hog with Sony lenses but a few are still using their Canon lenses with adaptors. They see very happy with the image quality and auto focus performance.

ACDsee is a very useful editing and image management tool, which I've used for many years. It's particularly good for batch processing. Well worth a look.

If you like the 7D2 then get another one - I've had one since they first came on the market and they are a very capable camera. Having said that I've always preferred the feel and speed of all of the 1D series of cameras. A 1D4 is still a good buy at the right price and it's going to be a while...
